Screening For Plagiarism

Psychospiritual: Journal of Trends in Islamic Psychological Research upholds a strict zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism. To ensure academic integrity, the editorial team uses Turnitin to evaluate the similarity index of all submitted manuscripts. The editorial decision regarding potential plagiarism is made based on the Turnitin report, which will also be provided to the authors.

The following editorial actions are applied based on the similarity index:

  • Similarity Index above 25%
Article Rejected: The manuscript will be immediately rejected due to poor citation practices or inadequate paraphrasing. Resubmission is not allowed.

  • Similarity Index between 20% and 25%
Revision Required: The manuscript will be returned to the author with a request to improve citation accuracy and conduct proper paraphrasing, even where citations are already present.

  • Similarity Index below 20%
Accepted or Minor Revision: The manuscript may be accepted, or the author may be asked to improve citations where necessary.

In cases where revision is requested (indexes between 20–25% or below 20%), the author must:

  1. Carefully revise the manuscript by improving citations and paraphrasing all outsourced content.

  2. Resubmit the revised manuscript along with a new Turnitin similarity report showing no plagiarism and a similarity index of less than 25%.

The journal is committed to ensuring the originality of all published work, in alignment with the principles of ethical publishing in Islamic psychological research.
